Dear Colleague,

There is an old adage in business that goes something like: "If you have two managers that always agree then one of them is redundant." Thankfully, this is not employed in most companies today, and it is not a school of thought I agree with or endorse. Having multiple perspecitives can be very beneficial. Many organizations take a similar approach to market research, or, in fact, information and knowledge in general. They will have one or two specialist sources, subscriptions with a publisher, that will answer some of their questions, but they also have a wider solution in place that allows multiple opinions from a wide array of sources.

For insight into how Profound effectively pairs with other types of research solutions, read our full blog post: "The Best of Both Worlds: The Power of Combining Market Research Solutions."

Plus, take a look at our publisher updates and Profound tip included below. And, as always, if you have any questions regarding the content on Profound, please contact your Account Manager.

IVD (IN VITRO DIAGNOSTIC) TESTING WORLD MARKET

In vitro diagnostic (IVD) testing is experiencing a revival fueled by a combination of technological improvements, cost pressures, reimbursement changes, rapid growth in molecular diagnostics and increasing interest in the genomics testing. Recent advances in molecular diagnostics technologies--including sequencing, PCR and microarray--are enabling greater sensitivity and precision in nucleic acid measurements, further expanding manufacturers’ offerings. This TriMark Publications report is an overview of each major in vitro diagnostic testing segment, including: point of care testing (POCT), molecular diagnostics, chemistry, diabetes and glucose, immunoassay, hematology, coagulation, pathology, microbiology, histology and cytology, and blood banking. The analysis here discusses the potential benefits of the diagnostics techniques, as well as provides market size and future growth potential.

CARDIAC MARKER DIAGNOSTIC TESTING MARKETS

Cardiac marker diagnostic testing measures the concentration of certain proteins, i.e., biomarkers, which indicate the presence or severity of cardiovascular disease (CVD). Among the most prevalent CVDs are sudden cardiac arrest (SCA), acute myocardial infarction (AMI), congestive heart failure (CHF) and atherosclerosis. Every year, an estimated 17 million people worldwide die from a CVD. This TriMark Publications report describes the specific market segment of the in vitro diagnostics (IVD) market devoted to cardiac marker testing, including size; growth; industry trends; product development and investment; and clinical measurement devices, reagents and supplies. Highly-attractive cardiac marker areas of growth covered in this review include: the cardiac rapid assay market, troponins, Creatine kinase-myocardial band (CK-MB) and brain natriuretic peptide (BNP) testing.

POINT OF CARE DIAGNOSTIC TESTING WORLD MARKET

Point of care testing (POCT) enables rapid diagnostic tests to be performed while the patient is at the point of care facility where results can be obtained immediately, rather than waiting hours or even days for outside lab results to arrive. Point of care testing covers: blood glucose testing, blood gas and electrolytes analysis, rapid coagulation testing, rapid cardiac markers diagnostics, drugs of abuse screening, urine strips testing, pregnancy testing, fecal occult blood analysis, food pathogens screening, hemoglobin diagnostics, infectious disease testing and cholesterol screening. This TriMark Publications report describes latest developments in the point of care testing market segment. It examines clinical instruments, devices and reagents and supplies as utilized in near-patient environments like hospital emergency rooms, critical care units, clinics and doctor's offices.

Profound Tip: Recently Viewed Items

Remember reviewing a great report on Profound, but you can’t remember the title? Profound’s “Recently Viewed Items” can be a very helpful tool in locating a report you looked at during your recent sessions.

You can locate the link on the left side on each page of Profound:

Recently Viewed Items

After following the link, you’ll see the last 30 reports you “clicked through” to on Profound – which means the last 30 Product Details/Table of Contents you viewed on your user ID.  The 30th report on the page will drop off once you view a new Product Detail page for another report.

The "Recently Viewed Items" can be a great timesaver and can help get you right back to where you need to be.
